Beyond Borders and Boundaries

posted 2 May 2016, 09:21 by Tony King

14 May 10.00-14.00 Friends Meeting House Jesus Lane

We are delighted to present you our new social theatre project, in partnership with Cambridge Ethnic Community Forum and the support of Allia Future Business Centre Cambridge, as our idea was selected during last #CambridgeSoup

Beyond Borders and Boundaries is aimed to people that may or may not have been in contact with a migrant context. We will present a hypothetical situation and through critical thinking and active collaboration we will have produced a performance at the end of the day. Driven by the desire of reaching a deep understanding and taking social action, participants will face on stage the problems thousands of people are going through every day not far from us.

We deliver high quality performances produced in community contexts. Art is a creative vehicle for the transformation of feelings and allows us to bring attention to social issues that need to be seen. Acting Now uses different techniques to raise the voices of those suffering from oppression. This time we will work around the critical situation many refugees are currently suffering through Forum Theatre. This theatrical method uses collective creation to encourage reflection and explore solutions to difficult problems.

You are very welcome to join - no matter whether you have acting experience or not, as we believe in everyone's creativity, and we have proof of its success! Visit our website to find out about similar projects we have delivered on social topics such as mental health, homelessness and learning disabilities.

It is time to raise awareness and speak up. Book your space now: https://beyondbordersandboundaries.eventbrite.co.uk/
