posted 12 Aug 2016, 00:24 by Tony King

Venue: 13, Magdalene Street, CambridgeCB3 0AF

When: 18 August 2016

The Primavera Art and Crafts Gallery is showing its support for refugees by putting on an evening of great poetry, art and conversation at its intimate Magdalene Street Gallery. 18th August 7.30pm - 9.30pm.

Joining us will be Elisabeth Sennitt Clough who has just released her acclaimed pamphlet 'Glass', author of 'Several Deer' and editor of The Literateur Adam Crothers and former and current Fenland Poet Laureates Jonathan Totman and Mary Livingstone.

We are delighted to have the notorious Cambridge poet Caron Freeborn performing following the publication of 'George Perec is My Hero'. We will hear work from Lewis Harrington who last year came third In the Tower Poetry Prize and Stewart Carswell whose work has been featured in the Cadaverine.

Also performing is Primavera gallery assistant and the event's organiser Mel Pettitt (melissapettitt@hotmail.co.uk) who is a student and a freelance poet; she is the winner of the Young Poets Network's Even It Up Challenge. There will also be some readings of powerful poems from the past.

Suggested audience member donation £5. All money raised will go to the Cambridge Refugee Resettlement Campaign-www.cambridgerefugees.org/
