We are seeking help with the running of our monthly socials. The CRRC Socials are the backbone of our work here in Cambridge and have been running for almost four years. It is a monthly opportunity for beneficiary families to come together to share time and food and to meet volunteers. It is also where a lot of CRRC business gets done.

This role involves:

  • Four to five hours of work prior to any social, four hours of work on the day of the social, one hour of work following up after a social.
  • Occasional face-to-face meetings with the organising team.
  • DBS checks through CRRC are essential.

The jobs below are shared amongst the small team:

  • Sending out doodle invitation and following it daily.
  • Managing enquiries.
  • Booking the venue – setting dates for socials.
  • Finding lifts.
  • Booking taxis.
  • Liaising with lead translator.
  • Organizing children’s activities.
  • Organizing volunteers to help on the day.
  • Managing room bookings for meetings that take place on site on the day.
  • Adhering to safety policies.
  • Meeting and greeting at the socials.
  • Overseeing the smooth running during the socials.
  • Addressing questions and concerns during the socials.
  • Liaising with CRRC Trustees and passing on all necessary information to them.

Attributes required

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and delegate tasks.
  • Flexibility.
  • With the occasional exception, availability one Saturday per month.
